Meet the Veterinarian and Team at Ivy Veterinary Care. We are delighted to provide high quality veterinary care for your pets!
Dr. Andrew Lee
DVM/Sole Owner
Dr. Andrew Lee is a graduate of the University of Illinois-Champaign-Urbana, where he received his doctorate in veterinary medicine after earning his BS in Biochemistry from the University of Illinois-Chicago. As a Chicago-area native, he is happy to be helping pets live their best lives in his hometown. Dr. Lee is passionate about forming life-long relationships with clients through education, compassion, and trust. He loves to work with owners to be active participants in their pets’ healthcare.
He lives in the neighborhood with his wife, who is also a veterinarian, their son, and a full house of pets — including Sawyer (a schnauzer with a big personality), Scout (a sweet mixed-breed dog), Lego (a mischievous Siamese cat), and Jim (the house recluse).
In his free time, Dr. Lee likes relaxing with friends and family, exercising (but hates running), fancying a new whiskey, trying new cuisine, and starting a new home improvement project that will never get finished.
Arlene
Treatment Manager
Arlene is our lead Veterinary Nurse, as well as our dedicated Treatment Manager. Her love for animal care began in 2014 while studying animal behavior. Arlene quickly obtained a position in animal hospitality and she’s been hooked ever since! To further her knowledge, she obtained a BS in Biology with a focus on Animal Sciences and she’s currently in the process of becoming a Certified Veterinary Technician. Through her ongoing studies, Arlene has established a strong foundation in gold-standard animal care.
Arlene’s dedication to developing and maintaining gold-standard procedures and protocols for our clinic has solidified her as an exceptional Treatment Manager. She believes that knowledge is power, and staying up-to-date and informed on industry standards is essential for the well-being of our patients and team members. Arlene’s endless compassion and adaptability have played a significant role in promoting a happy and safe workplace culture.
Arlene is proud to be part of the Chicago hispanic community and embraces her Mexican heritage. When she’s not in the clinic, you can find Arlene spending time with her two spirited Shiba Inus, Trunks and Kass. She and her husband, Krys, love to embark on roadtrips, hikes and other outdoor adventures with their energetic pups! Her other hobbies include experimenting with new recipes, hosting game nights, and going out to watch the latest movie premiere!
Kori
Client Care Manager
Born and raised in a rural farm town, Kori moved to Chicago in 2013 to pursue an education in human medicine, however she soon found her true calling in veterinary medicine. As our trusted Client Care Manager she ensures the front office runs like clockwork. Over ten years of experience in the animal care industry have equipped Kori with the knowledge and skills to ensure your veterinary experience is exceptional. Born to yap, Kori is often the voice you hear when you call, email, text, or walk through the front door. She is deeply passionate about client education and she thrives while providing personalized guidance and ensuring each pet parent feels confident and empowered in the care they provide their animals. Watching the bond between our clients and their furry companions deepen is truly special for Kori, and she feels honored to be part of each journey.
Kori’s family wouldn’t be the same without her two furry companions. Bronx is her loving black-and-tan rescue mix (a true velcro dog) and Grim is a spicy, long-haired black cat. Grim certainly knows how to keep the household full of energy at all hours! Bronx holds an especially dear place in her heart as the pup who not only introduced her to the joys and challenges of pet parenthood but also sparked her passion for veterinary medicine. She’s learned so much from him. Bronx enjoys a tasty pup cup, his grammi, and going on adventures with his family!
During her downtime, you’ll probably find Kori relaxing on a beach with a mezcalita in hand! Kori has a passion for adventure and loves traveling the world with her husband, Kenneth. Exploring new places and experiencing new cultures is their way of life! As an advocate for sustainability, she is committed to keeping the planet green by practicing veganism, composting, and supporting eco-friendly choices. She believes in doing her part to ensure a healthy Earth for future generations.
Rebecca
Practice Manager
Rebecca, a Chicago native, developed her love for animals while growing up with several working dogs whose careers were dedicated to helping people. She has experienced first-hand the unconditional love and devotion animals provide for us, inspiring her to break into the animal care industry. As a high school student, her first animal care position involved volunteering to clean bird poop out of cages at a local clinic. Now that’s dedication!
After gaining more experience caring for animals, Rebecca obtained a BS in Biological Sciences from Roosevelt University and she is dedicated to staying on a path of continuous learning and growth. She has worked in the veterinary industry for ten years as both a veterinary technician and an administrator. Despite her experience in emergency and shelter medicine, she is devoted to private small animal practice where she can develop a supportive and collaborative relationship with each pet parent and team member. She values gold-standard medical care as well as attending to each patient with kindness and compassion.
When she’s not at work, Rebecca enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and introverted rescue dog, Charlie. She enjoys reading outside, regardless of the crazy Chicago weather, and she loves to try new restaurants and bars around the city. Any place that allows dogs gets 5 stars!
